Knowledge is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as:
(i) expertise, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject;
(ii) what is known in a particular field or in total; facts and information;
(iii) be absolutely certain or sure about something; or
(iv) the confident understanding of a subject with the ability to use it for a specific purpose if appropriate.
But, the definition of Knowledge fails to include an important component -- theemotional connection to Knowledge.
Power is a measure of an entity's ability to control its environment, including the behavior of other entities. The term authority is often used for power, perceived as legitimate by the social structure.
The famous phrase scientia potentia est is a Latin maxim meaning "knowledge is power". This phrase is commonly attributed to Sir Francis Bacon.
The phrase implies that with knowledge or education, one's potential or abilities in life will certainly increase. Having and sharing knowledge is widely recognized as the basis for improving one's reputation and influence, thus power.
This phrase may also be used as a justification for a reluctance to share information when a person believes that withholding knowledge can deliver to that person some form of advantage.
Another possible meaning for this phrase can be found in philosophical idealism - if the world exists solely as the content of consciousness, then knowledge itself can be used to directly manipulate the content of reality.
This phrase was also used by the author of Death to Diabetes (DeWayne McCulley) to imply that if you acquired the real knowledge about nutrition and disease, that you would have the power to live a better life.
If you are a spiritual person, then, you can tap into your Inner Spirit from the Power of God and motivate yourself to use that power (and the knowledge of a good book such asDeath to Diabetes) to improve your health and the health of others. But, don't make the mistake that some religious people make by sitting around waiting for God to give you the knowledge or power of good health -- you must go out and get that knowledge and power yourself.
P.S. Actually God has already given us the power of good health -- it's in the Bible!
Information exhibits the same duality: properly provided, it is a positive power of unequaled strength. Improperly disseminated and presented, it is nothing short of destructive.
The management of the structure, content, provision and dissemination of information is, therefore, of paramount importance -- especially if that information is supposed to help make you healthy or wealthy.
Information has four dimensions:
1. Structure – information can come in various physical forms and poured into different kinds of vessels and carriers. Books, textbooks, and newspapers, are three of the more common forms that information is provided to the public.
2. Content – consists of both "hard" data, which should, in principle, be verifiable through the employment of objective, scientific, methods – and "soft" data, the interpretation offered with the hard data. Books that help people are invaluable because of their content.
3. Provision – The intentional input of structured content into information channels. The timing of this action, the quantities of data fed into the channels, their qualities – all are part of the equation of provision.
4. Dissemination – More commonly known as media or information channels. The channels which bridge between the information providers and the information consumers. Some channels are merely technical and then the relevant things to discuss would be technical: bandwidth, noise to signal ratios and the like. Other channels are metaphorical and then the relevant determinants would be their effectiveness in conveying content to targeted consumers. By providing a book in a store or on the Internet makes it easier to disseminate that information to the public.
Positive information is characterized by four qualities:
1. Transparency – Knowing the sources of the information, the methods by which it was obtained, the confirmation that none of it was unnecessarily suppressed (some would argue that there is no "necessary suppression") – constitutes the main edifice of transparency. The datum or information can be true, but if it is not perceived to be transparent – it will not be considered reliable. Think about an anonymous (=non-transparent) letter versus a signed letter – the latter will be more readily relied upon (subject to the reliability of the author, of course).
2. Reliability – is the direct result of transparency. Acquaintance with the source of information (including its history) and with the methods of its provision and dissemination will determine the level of reliability that we will attach to it. How balanced is it? Is the source prejudiced or in any way an interested, biased, party? The circumstances surrounding the datum are as important as its content. The context of a piece of information is of no less consequence that the information contained in it. Above all, to be judged reliable, the information must "reflect" reality.
3. Comprehensiveness – Information will not be considered transparent, nor will it be judged reliable if it is partial. It must incorporate all the aspects of the world to which it relates. A missing part of information implies ignorance of interactions, which might crucially alter the interpretation of the information.
4. Organization – This, arguably, is the most important aspect of information. It is what makes information comprehensible. It includes the spatial and temporal (historic) context of the information, its interactions with its context, its inner interactions, as we described earlier, its structure, the rules of decision (grammar and syntax) and the rules of interpretation (semantics, etc.) to be applied.
The Death to Diabetes book is a great book because it meets all of this criteria. This book will give you the information to improve your health. And,.once you are healthy, you can move onto improve the health of your loved ones and your community. And, once you are able to do that, you will have real power -- power that you can use to better mankind.

Emotional Connection to Knowledge
When it comes to lifestyle-driven diseases such as Type 2 diabetes, some people feel the Embarrassment and Guilt associated with being diabetic because they think it's their fault.
Unfortunately, these feelings of embarrassment and guilt create a silence that allows the disease to spread from one generation to the next. This leads to more family members becoming diabetic!
Some of the embarrassment and guilt is also driven due to the public's lack of knowledge and misunderstanding about diseases such as Type 2 diabetes. As a result they impose their own judgements onto diabetics, creating a vicious cycle of embarrassment, guilt, and more disease.
Consequently, it is imperative that people acquire the power of knowledge. Once they do, they become more hopeful and empowered. Then, they become more confident and motivated to fight back against a disease that they didn't feel that they could defeat -- they go the Hope back.
Key Point: Knowledge, Hope and Emotional Support are very powerful and allow us to defeat Embarrassment, Guilt, Anxiety, Anger, and the other negative emotions that hold us back from living a healthy life.
Do You Want the Power of Knowledge?
Do you really want this power? Do you want too take responsibility? Are you ready to learn?
Are you ready to receive the knowledge?
"When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." Buddhist Proverb
When you're ready for something you will be presented with "teachers" or resources to show you the path! Actually, the path was always there but now your awareness is fertile and ready to absorb the information to make it more real to you. Now you can take advantage of and use this information. Its appearance (the teacher) is ironically not something that happens outside of you, it is something that happens inside of you.
The teacher appearing is in reality a block disappearing, your mind opening to the possibility of its existence. When your in alignment with something you start to see it everywhere, you start to align with what you need to grow.
When you're not ready to learn something you're closed off to the information. Your mind is closed, and you don't correctly perceive it. You don't accept the truth about it and anything someone tries to teach you about it will not really count because you won't accept it as truth.
When your ready your power is exposed and you see it through your environment like a mirror..
We actively manifest awareness of the teacher, who was standing there the entire time waiting for us to accept its existence.
When you are ready your mind opens up and is thirsty to learn more. You're perceptive to the information and thus you start to do things that attract the right resources. Your actions, your decisions and your very stimulation externally with the environment and the outside world, people, everything generates reactions.
What we see in our world is based on our perceptions of our world. Our perceptions color our reactions to things we perceive, through our sensory perceptions. When we process this information and give it meaning we then react to that information accordingly. If we're interested in absorbing more information we proactively react in a way that invites more information. We go out, we start reading, we educate ourselves, we ask questions.
Every movement we make pushes out into the world an action that generates a series of reactions until our own actions set into play a symphony of reactions that come towards us perceived as random actions. We are affected and react to them in ways that generate more and more things.
When you're ready to learn something, you're motivated to grow, you snow ball your actions/reactions and the world moves in sync with what you need. You don't realize it but you're making it all happen. The teacher is not some external object or person, it's the symphony of your reactions, your internal guidance vibrating the world to a certain rhythm. When you integrate the new information your reactions become more intelligent and focused and you start to make things happen through resonance.
Almost as if by magic, people and situations are magnetized to you and you find yourself constantly in the right place at the right time. You think you're just lucky and that what you want and what is happening are in perfect sync but the reality is you put it that way.
The beauty of locking on to an idea is that subconsciously we start to drive our reactions towards things we intuitively know will bring about more resources.
The teacher is your own intuition. When you align yourself especially with people who are knowledgeable about things they can sense your dedication and are happy to help you out, to teach you, to offer you assistance.
They say knowledge is power but, if that were the case, academics would rule the world. Knowledge in itself is not power; rather the application of knowledge is where power lies. For example, reading the book Death to Diabetes won't help you improve your health, but if you apply the principles of the book and change your eating habits, then, you will improve your health and gain power.
Reading Rich Dad Poor Dad won't make you rich, but if you apply the principles, you can live a life of financial well-being.
These are wonderful times for people who like new challenges. They are particularly wonderful times for people looking to improve their lives and the lives of their loved ones.
Mr. McCulley's company (Death to Diabetes, LLC) is producing vast quantities of health-related content in the form of books, ebooks, reports, abstracts, DVDs, CDs, emails, workshops, presentations, tele-seminars, webinars, health coaching sessions, web pages, and blog pages.
But, how do you use this information and other information from other sources to move forward to improve your health and the health of your family members, relatives, and people in your community?
Well, first, you need to stop with the excuses and you need to improve your health first.
Here is an excerpt from one of Mr. McCulley's new book that he's working on:
It has been difficult to break that cycle, but that has all changed during that past 10-15 years. Now, you can break that cycle of being "financially poor" -- despite the racism, sexism, etc.

Turning knowledge into power
We are in an era of knowledge abundance. But, we need new strategies to deal with so much communication and so much knowledge. They say knowledge is power but, if that were the case, academics would rule the world. Knowledge and Power: The Answer to Life
Knowledge is power.
This country runs on power.
You need power to be successful in this country (or any country).
There are 3 ways to acquire power in this country:
1. You can inherit power from a relative who has power.
2. You can be given power from someone who has power.
3. You can acquire power through learning.
Most people, especially ethnic groups, are not in the position to inherit power or be given power. Most ethnic groups were responsible for making others, especially Caucasian-Americans wealthy and powerful during the past 200-300 years.
But, you can acquire power via the third way -- through learning.
Unfortunately, due to racism, sexism, socialism, elitism, and other isms, many ethnic people were unable to take acquire a scholarship or finances to take advantage of the educational institutions in this country.
As a result, many ethnic people are either unemployed or make minimum wage, and are unable to live the life that they deserve. To make matters worse, the children of these people are also unable to live the life that they deserve. Unfortunately, being "financially poor" becomes generational.
It has been difficult to break that cycle, but that has all changed during that past 10-15 years. Now, you can break that cycle of being "financially poor" -- despite the racism, sexism, etc.
Because of the computer and the Internet, you can break that cycle -- there is no need to be "intellectually poor". The computer and Internet gives you ready access to information all around the world!
But, most people don't know how to weed through all of the information out there and figure out which information will help them. If you're diabetic, I'm sure it is difficult trying to figure out which information will help to improve your diabetes and which information will not help.
Well, I've made it easy for you: I've placed the steps of my diabetes program on my website (and my blog) -- so that people can no longer use the excuse that they don't have the money. In fact, if you follow the program, you will have more than enough money to buy the book within 90 days.
Once you buy the book and read the book, you will become "intellectually rich" with new knowledge about diabetes and nutrition, and how to improve your health.
And, once you apply the knowledge from the book and change your eating habits and lifestyle, you will begin to crawl out of the deep, dark pit of being financially-strained or poor.

Once you become "intellectually rich", you can transition from being "financially poor" to becoming "financially solvent" or "financially comfortable".
Then, by acquiring more knowledge about how to use your computer and the Internet, you can, gradually over a period of years, you can transition from being "financially poor" to becoming "financially solvent", then, "financially healthy", and, then, "financially wealthy"!
Once you are healthy, people will want to learn how you improved your health. As a result, you will begin sharing your story with your church, friends, relatives, community, etc. And, more people will want to hear your story. And, over time, this can grow into a business that can generate lots of money for you and your family.
Eventually (if you want), you will be able to use your story (testimony) to make money by using your computer/laptop to conduct lectures at your church and in the community, write a book, develop a blog or website, or sell health-related products. But, first, you need to get healthy.
Once you get healthy, others will ask you how you lost the weight or got off all the meds. Then, you will become the Light for others in your family and your community.
