DTD Emails from Customers

In addition to the emails on the Death to Diabetes website, here are some of the many additional (earlier) emails we received thanking Mr. McCulley for his book or for helping someone in need.

FYI: There are hundreds of more emails in the DTD Email Archives database.

Your feedback and testimonials on these websites will stand the test of time and will continue to help us against the powerful pharmaceutical companies who are trying to suppress my message of Education and Hope against this dreaded disease.

DTD Emails

Here are some of the emails that I received early on when I was just starting out with helping people with their diabetes. I owe a lot to these people because they gave me the courage and the confidence to help a lot of people -- something I never imagined being able to do.
(Unfortunately, I lost many of the early emails after my computer crashed).

I just wanted to write you and say "thanks" for sharing your story which i discovered today on YouTube. Your story has inspired me to make a positive change in my lifestyle as I've lived with type 2 diabetes for the last 14 years and it really sucks. I am 43 years old and live in Canada (Vancouver). My wife is a nurse and we have 2 beautiful children, so I feel that I have a good support network to help me put a death to my diabetes once and for all!

I look forward to showing my wife your videos tonight on YouTube, and ordering your book (or eBook) this week. I will keep you posted on my progress.

Yes the info on RSD was indeed helpful. I thought the program might help but your confirmation makes me more confidant in trying this for the RSD. The color of my arms is less blue than before. I have more energy, less tired, and the pain went down to a 5 on the pain scale of 1-10. However with change in the weather to rain and lower temps I went into a flare which is normal for my RSD. I think it will take time and commitment for this to work. I look forward to the future weeks. I'll be adding evening primose oil hopefully next week, I read the recommendation for it in D2D for diabetic neuropathy.

Hi DaWayne,
Thank you for your counsel last week ...

I actually received my book ...Well, I can't put it down! ... It's just like you talking...on & on & on..

There is so much life in this book!

Yeah-there's work ahead but knowing that my latter days will be better/greater is healing. By the way, my initial questions were immediately answered with the "dawn effect" section in your book.

I must say also that the Leviticus scripture is most powerful..

Continue to birth what God has given you.

Mr McCulley's book is a great book simply because it actually works!

I've read a lot of diabetes books -- this was the first one that actually worked!

This book is a must-read for all diabetics and non-diabetics, and, yes even doctors. :-)

After reading so many books on diabetes, I thought that most of the diabetes books out there were a waste of money. Until a friend of a friend recommended this book about 2 years ago.

At that time my husband was facing insulin shots because the metformin wasn't working anymore after his doctor increased his dosage and added another diabetic drug.

My husband didn't want to go on the shots, so he was willing to try anything if it would delay going on the shots. Within 3 weeks, my husband's fasting BS returned to an average of 101 (from the low 200s). Within another 3-4 weeks his post-meal BS reduced to 110 (from a previous average of 170). So his doctor delayed putting him on insulin.

By the 3rd month he lost 37 pounds and also lowered his blood pressure -- his doctor was shocked but encouraged me to continue with my meal planning (which was based on the Death to Diabetes diet program). His doctor reduced my husband's blood pressure and diabetic meds.

After about a year, after a complete physical, my husband's doctor told him he could temporarily stop taking the diabetic meds and the blood pressure drugs. When he returned for his 6-month check-up, his doctor said his blood work was excellent: 89 BS, 4.9 A1C, 115/85 BP!!

The bonus for me was that during this time because I was eating what my husband ate, I lost 22 pounds! and I've never felt so full of energy! So I recommend this book to non-diabetics as well as diabetics.

p.s. Can you tell us when will Mr. McCulley be coming to our city to speak?

Dear DeWayne,
I am glad to report that my HbA1C is now around 6 without any diabetic medication. Thanks for your guidance through the Death To Diabetes book that I had purchased. I am working towards bringing the HbA1C to around 5 in the next month or two.

Please find attached a recent news article that says there are more than 50 million diabetics in India and number will increase sharply in the coming years.

Your book could be of great use to the type 2 diabetics in India. I wanted to explore being your affiliate in India to promote your book here, and even get it translated to a few Indian languages (there are more than 20 major languages in India).

Do let me know your thoughts. We could even have a scheduled telephonic talk.

Thanks to Mr. MCulley and his kind caring staff . It means soo much. Tell Mr. McCulley he can consider it done. I will be glad to enter those comments on Amazon.

My blog will be about my journey to wellness and other women's issues. My belief is that there should be an underground wellness movement to heal ourselves. I'm glad the doctors are there but they are falling short on our healthcare in a lot of areas and I don't think we should rely on them wholeheartedly without question..because sadly, healthcare in this country is motivated by money more than saving lives.

I can send the link when I'm finished so he can review it..Mr. McCulley is a genious and more people need to know about him. If I hadn't purchased his book I'd still be shooting myself in the stomach with Lantus and slowly rotting away..

I am also a System engineer (Electrical). Two years ago I bought and read your book Death to Diabetes and have been able to maintain my a1C at 5.5 without any meds.

I did a bunch of research, read books like Good Calories, Bad Calories, Reversing Diabetes, etc. and in the process saw your book on AMAZON as one of their other recommendations. The feedback there from readers convinced me to buy the book.

I was taking Glimepride for over two years, but stopped taking meds immediately. I would measure my Sugar levels (SL) and for the first two weeks was exercising 3-4 times a day. I have hiked a mtn where you gain 800' in 2 miles almost every day since 1995 and worked out with weights 4 times a week, but still had higher SLs. I found measuring 2 hours after eating provided me the best insights to how my body was processing food into sugars. And I would often workout to get my SL below 110 before I would go to bed at night.

I have found Vanadium to be very effective at helping me keep my SLs below 110 two after I eat.

Hi, Pats readings are between 87 and 140 now! Mostly between 95-120. They were between 145-210 average 160-180 before he started your program. He has been very strong about sticking to what he should do. He has Brussels, brocolli and eggs in the morning with total greens. Salad and nuts during the day. And salmon and vegies or soup at dinner. He's reading the book and very excited. He tells everyone that I have helped to save his life along with your program. He's not angry with me at all. He was very ready to get his health back. He writes everything down that he does, He tried the club soda once and it didn't seem to affect his readings. When he works out, which he does almost every day is the only time that his reading gets over 120, and then it goes back down by his nightly reading. His readings are now finally lower in the morning. So I guess no more Dawns phenomanem. THANK-YOU SO MUCH!!!

We have always had great vitamins from our herbalist. He takes very high quality vitamins. We are open to suggestions on blood stabilizing vitamins, He takes coQ10, hawthorne, Vit. E, D-3, Biotin, Red Yeast Rice, Resveratrol, vanadyl sulfate, Vanadium with chromium, Cinnamon, from Now, Healthy originals, Planetary herbals, Source naturals, natures purest, atri-vana. Also He takes Reliv classic and A mix from our herbalist for blood sugar of fresh herbs that he mixes in a glass of water, He drinks herbal teas now also.

We still need to start doing cleanses, He did one kidney cleanse. And we need to get the juicer out and get started.

Thank-you so much for caring

Dear Mr. McCulley,
You've helped me so much through your book and CD'S and DVD'S I just had to tell you. I'll be 60 in December, and for 27 years I've been permanently disabled, 25years in a wheelchair. Your meal plan has helped me cut way down on the use of insulin. And I've lost over 30 lbs since your teleseminar in April.

I cannot move around much due to another neurological disorder. When I tell the doctor, he say's that's nice but doesn't change my prescription for the insulin. He knows I know how to cut back, so I'm sure he's not worried. Maybe he doesn't think I'll stick to it. I have no cravings, and I'm not hungry. That's a first for my lifetime.

Also I can look at a yummy chocolate cream filled donut--from Dunkin Donuts, and I used to eat 3 of them and still be hungry, now I can say no, thank you and mean it. We have a coffee hour in the community room on Sunday Mornings. Dunkin Donuts donates 2 dozen donuts for us and Publix Supermarkets donates day old bread and goodies. the leftovers are used for Tuesday morning blood pressure check--that's when I see the stuff and can say NO.

I want to send Dr. Phil and e-mail about you and your book, and how it has helped me, even though I cannot exercise. Is it o.k. with you? I think you could help a lot of people out there who watch his program who are diabetics who cannot exercise much. I know until I heard about you I was getting near the morbidly obese line and still gaining. I'm eating more of the right kinds of foods now than I was. I didn't think canned goods and frozen dinners would hurt and make me still gain weight. If Dr. Phil is interested I'll give the credit to you and tell a little about your book, and give the info. how to contact you for purchasing your book. Please let me know. Sincerely,

By the way, I thought you'd like to know that as a result of interviewing you, reading your book, and continuing to modify my diet - I lost weight without really trying. Adding more green vegetables, adding garlic, sweet basel, fruits (strawberries, grapes), salads to my diet together with abstaining from my 1/2 gallon of ice cream routine and some exercise did the trick. I didn't realize how much weight I had lost until people starting walking up to me and saying, "W-O-W! You really lost a lot of weight!" I'm not trying to lose weight -- I'm just trying to keep the arteries to my heart and brain UNCLOGGED!

Thanks for everything!

I have something that I just wanted to share with you.

I just received an email from a person on a (diabetes) website forum that I joined. I told her about the book “Death to Diabetes” about a week and a half ago and this was her reply below.

Today is my birthday and I am reading my birthday present Death to Diabetes. I am happy to say that so far I am doing everything right, but I will continue reading so I will be sure I can improve on everything. Thank you for telling me about this book.

I too, was brought to the hospital 8 months ago with a B. S. reading of over 900, fortunate for me my daughter noticed and took action. In the last 9 months I am happy to say I rarely have to take insulin during the day and have lowered my intake of Lantus at bedtime from 144 units to now 50. With the help of this book I am determined to use even less and although my doctor says I will always have to use insulin, she could definitely be wrong.

Thanks again,

I am so happy to be able to tell others about this great book! I also just received your Live DVD which is just as great.

I would also like to share maybe an option concerning the program as you requested others to share their options. I was wondering if Mr. McCulley would ever consider writing a Super Meals Cookbook that contains recipes of his super meals. Also to have an online affiliate program in order for others to sell his book and help spread the word.

Please let me know what you think.

Hi DeWayne, Nov 29, 2007

Just finished reading your book – great work!

In February, knowing nothing about diabetes, I decided to start advocating for a diabetic friend of the family, and invested 1-3 hours/day for 8 months in self-education and in communicating and in maintaining logging documents for this 40-yr-old type-1. I also developed charts and analyses. I had accessed about 50 books on diabetes, only the following 5 of which I have read in their entirety.

The Diabetes Diet by Richard Bernstein, M.D. (engineer turned doctor, type-1)

Cheating Destiny by James Hirsch (journalist, type-1 with 5-yr-old son, type-1)

Dr. Neal Barnard's Program for Reversing Diabetes by same & Bryanna Grogan

Dr. Bernstein’s Diabetes Solution by same.

Death to Diabetes by DeWayne McCulley (engineer, former type-2)

The following is my way of saying thank you for the work that you have done which will be most beneficial to me and to others I know:

1. I plan to provide you, within a week, a 4-5 page critique of your book that I feel might contribute to enhancement of any upcoming edition.

2. I plan to post, within a month, a very positive 1000-word review of your book on which will not include any material from the critique.

3. Since raw foods comprise a significant component of your protocols, I am offering you access to Jenna Norwood’s, raw foods documentary and raw food preparation tv segments, Jenna. My daughter, Jenna, would be most pleased to hear from you. And if you might be doing a workshop in Sarasota Florida, do ask about her raw foods cafĂ©.

Dear Mr. McCulley,
Was on the other day looking for diabetic cookbooks and happened along your book. Was intrigued by the cover and title, so read further. Decided after reading a little bit of the contents and being impressed by what your reviewers had to say, that it could do me no harm to purchase it. Got the book yesterday and am about 85 pages into the book and am amazed by some of the things I have learned. Had to go food shopping a little while ago, so skipped over to the Super Meal Models in chapter 17 in order to purchase "live" instead of "dead" foods!!

I am a 57 year old female who was diagnosed with diabetes in 2004. Went on meds and stopped eating white sugar and flour immediately. Dropped a few pounds and kept my BG somewhat normal. After about 2 years of "behaving", I decided I was tired of testing and behaving, so started pretending a wasn't a diabetic anymore. Continued taking my meds, but other than that, lived my life as I had previous to my diagnosis. This past June my eyes were starting to get blurry and I knew damn well what it was from. Went to the doctor, had a complete blood work up. Fasting BG was 206. A1C was 8.6. Not too good, huh? Doctor put me on Byetta, in addition to the Actos I've already been taking. BG has come down, but not a whole heck of a lot.

During the next week or two I will be changing my diet to be the same as what has worked for you. I pray that it will work for me too.

I'm so glad that God led you down the path He did. I've been praying for an answer of how to tackle diabetes, and you may have answered my prayers.

Thank you and Blessings!

Dear Dewayne,
Mike and I are pleased to bring you the encouraging report
after Mike's last blood work. The doctor said he considers Mike's
diabetes in remission!

A few numbers -total cholesterol-165, HDL chol.-36, LDL-120

Chol/HDL-4.6, glycohemoglobin- 5.9

Trust this finds you well and making good progess on your book.

Again we thank God for bringing you into our lives to share your

success and point us in the right direction.

Bless you!

PS. Have you had a chance to watch the video? I am curious what
you think of it as an educational tool?

DeWayne-Amazing! I attended your talk at the Nikken meeting last Saturday as a guest. Your presentation was awesome-absolutely right on target scientifically, and a real wake-up call! Accurate, humorous, personal, with a little ethnicity tossed in for good measure. I appreciate that you've taken this on as your mission, educating those at such high risk. Your heart is in the right place.

I'm an orthopedic surgeon, in private practice in Rochester. I attended the meeting as a guest of one of my patients, Bob Meadows. I've been raving to anyone within earshot about your message and delivery.

I'd like to bring my parents to your session at St. Mary's Hospital. I'd like all my patients to hear it. Do you deliver the same talk? Does it vary week to week? You need an infomercial, man!

Thanks-Stephanie Siegrist, MD

Thank you so much for a very informative and well-presented program on issues with Diabetes! You mentionned that you offer a presentation at various churches. Are there any being offered in the Webster-Penfield-Irondequoit area?

Thank you, thank you, thank you...for all your research in such a short
period of time. Yes, this is a tricky one to address. Honestly, when I was
first diagnosed, it was back in 1998. An asthma attack arose after not
having an attack for your many years. I want to the Dr.'s they X-rayed the
chest/lung area and voila, they discovered abnormal sized lungs (glands). I
believe all things happen for a reason.

Truly, thank God, I have not had any problems with shortness of breath or
respiratory concerns. I do excercise (jog) 3 - 4x per week. My PC and/or
respiratory Dr. were seeing me every six months. However, the respiratory
Dr. told tme hat as long as I am feeling good and there is no change, and I
don't feel the need to see him as frequently, that he would leave it up to
me with reference to scheduling.

The only reason that I have been taken Playqenill (1st) and methotrexate
(2nd) is because of the fibrous tissue around the nostril and puffyness in
the corners of the eyes. As bad it it may sound, when you start seeing
things on your face that have not been there before, you (I) get a little
concerned as well as self-conscious.

I left a message on your voicemail, would you like me respond to your
questions via e-mail or would you like to have a phone coversation. I'll be
in this evening after 9:00 p.m. or tomorrow after 6:00 p.m.

Thanks again, Carol

Dear Dewayne,
Thank you for the timely information on diabetes. My husband, Mike, and I
are so appreciative for the phone time you gave, as well, answering my many
questions. Alas, the questions keep coming and I eagerly await the
publication of your book!

Mike stopped drinking coffee on Sunday and he was pretty miserable for the
following 2 days. Habits die hard. We, also, implemented the super meal concept.
He's dropped a couple pounds as a result and is down to 198. (he was 225lbs in Jan)
We started testing Mike's blood glucose yesterday. I can already see this
is an invaluable tool. Interestingly, last night he ate a late dinner after exercise
and his glucose was 111 before bed.

Today it shot up to 140 after a snack of raw cashews and an apple but was
down to 126 after dinner.

I understand we want those numbers under 120. How troublesome are today's
higher numbers I wonder?

The dietary plan you've outlined seems similar to Atkins. Now that you're
cured, can you break from the strict plan on occasion? If so, how often?

Is a little vinegar permissible with the olive oil for a homemade salad dressing?

Again, thank you for your kind assistance.

Thanks so much, DeWayne, for compiling and sending me the extensive
information about dealing with MS. I forwarded it to my son and hope he'll
take it into consideration as he's moving forward.

I hope you don't mind but I also forwarded it to a friend of mine (Tim
McGowan) who coordinates the educational programming at the MS Society -
Thought he ought to learn more from you too!

Let's stay in touch!

Enjoy the weekend!

Dewayne, I'm just getting around to saying thank you for the wealth of information, I got from you, now the execution is up to me.:) I've been talking about you nonstop to some of my friends and they would love to hear one of your talks. Do you have anymore planned or would you be willing to set up one if I could get some people to come?

I would love for them to hear your story and some of the things you do now. This would be a very inquisitive crowd, if we could get the timing right. Can you let me know your availablity. A Saturday late evening seemed to work well and I would get a place. We have a potential location in Bulls Head Plaza that we can use or if not my home is an option.

Let me know and thanks again. I will be out of town beginning tomorrow through Memorial Day, but I hope I will be able to check email between now and then.
