I love this blog also -- all the videos are great entertainment but also very educational!

More importantly, I love this man's passion, and his desire to help people.

My wife and I love his book "Death to Diabetes", which helped us get off the meds!

We love all the recipes and the food tips are very useful and easy to implement. You don't have to be a great cook to use these recipes.

We've never seen such a comprehensive cookbook for diabetics!

great post, you nailed alot of key issues. wanted to add that not only medications hurt liver and lidneys, but some of them make pancreas work extra hard to produce more insulin and damage pancreas by over working it. I had some good results using flax seeds to treat my grandmother. her glucose levels droped from an avarage of 200 to 15 in one month. plus she started taking much less medications.

Thank you for your kind words -- it was my mother and my daughter Cynthia who helped me beat my diabetes, and encouraged me to write the book, Death to Diabetes. As you're probably aware, Type 1 diabetes is an entirely different disease than Type 2 -- it is an autoimmune disease that attacks the healthy beta cells of the pancreas.

I believe that there are very intelligent people out there, and that they can find the cure for almost any disease. But, until we change the reward system so that medical researchers are rewarded for finding natural cures instead of drug-based treatments, it will be difficult for medical science to provide the world with real cures instead of surgeries/transplants and drug treatments marketed as cures.

In the meantime, you can ward off many of the complications associated with diabetes by avoiding the 5 "dead" foods especially the grain, cow's milk, trans fats, and refined carbs.

First of all, thanks for doing what you've done and continue to do, it is most appreciated. Can you offer any advice for a type 1 diabetic? I am 23 yrs old diagnosed at 13, I've had pretty good control and am convinced it too can be reversed. What do you think?

Diabetes currently has no documented medical cure and requires too many strong medications to manage and control, leading the diabetic to try to control his/her diabetes while dealing with the side effects of the drugs. Many of the diabetic books do not address these side effects and the specific root causes of diabetes -- they focus primarily on controlling the symptoms of the disease. As a result, a diabetic may be able to control the disease (for a while), but not get rid of the disease as it continues to gradually and quietly destroy the body internally. And, eventually, the diabetic loses control over the disease, believing there is nothing that he/she can do besides take more drugs. However, there is something a diabetic can do: from a biochemical and hormonal perspective, there are 5 "live" foods that trigger the body's internal healing mechanism to repair the trillions of defective cells in a diabetic's body and, actually reverse the disease. Coincidentally, there are 5 "dead" foods that increase insulin resistance and acidity to propagate disease in the body -- to either cause a person to become diabetic or remain in a diabetic state. Consequently, there is a "cure" if a person is willing to eat these "live" foods and stop eating the "dead" foods. (More about these foods in a future correspondence).
